Hi,

We are using the Stripe plugin with Virtuemart 3.8.8 and have noticed that Stripe javascript functions are loaded even on pages unrelated to Virtuemart.

Is it normal?

Is there away to avoid that?

Hi Virginie,

Thank you for using our plugin for VirtueMart. Apologies for taking longer than usual to reply. I was helping a client with a difficult and unplanned migration. He has now left this unfair hosting provider ;-)

You may have a module or mini cart loaded on every page, who requests some VirtueMart files. That is where stripe.js is loaded from.

Thank you Hervé for your answer.

We are facing slow loading pages on our website sometimes.

Network analisys seems to indicate that it could be related with Stripe.js loading that is why we would like to avoid it to be loaded when it is not necessary.

I do have a solution that need further testing. It is on my roadmap, and I will work further on it once the major version of the plugin is released later this month.

How about the availibility of the new release of the plugin? is this downloadable now?

We are waiting for the solution you talked before regarding our problem with stripe.js loading.

Hello Virginie,

Thank you for your message and patience.

The major release is a bit unstable for an unforeseen reason. I will implement your request tomorrow, on a previous working version, and send you a private release for you to test.

It will give you a solution for what you want to achieve, and test the new feature on a real life context for me, win-win. This way, the feature would be in the next public releases, so it will not changed for you when you update the Stripe plugin.

I will get back to you with a test version.

Hello Virginie,

Sorry for the late reply. My family was travelling unexpectedly in the last 2 weeks. Short notice arrangements due to an opportunity of a family gathering that could not happen in the last 3 years !! We had some mix of great times and stressful events!

Progress had been done. I am completing your test version tomorrow, after fixing issues for my ecommerce clients, using Realex Global payments and Paypal.

Stripe Plugin for Virtumart best Ever

Functionality

Once you go through the documentation and try out the settings (and don't forget to test it with a "test item", it works like a dream.

Ease of use

Very easy to use, though a little play with the settings may be needed to get an understanding of the system. And you need a stripe account.

Support

Best support ever. Hervé has been very patient and kind and helped me greatly when the Stripe plugin no longer spoke with the new updates.

Documentation

Documentation is very good. You do need a Stripe account, and you need a little "try out" time to get it all in place.

Value for money

Yes, very much value for money. The plugin, Hervé's support, the easy for the customers to use it. It is all worth it.

I used this to: I use it for my IMRF Bookshop: imrfbookshop(.)org. People can now pay by credit/debit card, Paypal (different plugin) and they can request an invoice and pay by bank transfer.

I particularly liked that test and live config is entered once, and a radio button to switch between modes

Straight forward to setup in the backend and easy for customers to use on the frontend.

Support

Issues created by an upgrade to Virtuemart were dealt with in a timely manner by the developer.

Documentation

Good documentation library that uses screen shots to clearly show configurations

Value for money

Yes. There are different subscription options, depending on your requirements.

I used this to: Selling various items of merchandise for a sailing club through Virtuemart.

This plugin is great! At first I couldn't get it to work with my install of joomla and virtuemart--but the great tech support from Puma-it (Herve) did real right by me, helping me to quickly resolve the problem and get this up and working on my site. Thanks Herve for your great Code and keep up the great work!
