Suspension of plugins development

Important information - October 2023

We have taken the difficult decision to suspend development, before further decision and arrangements for our customers.
 

You need to be a subscriber in order to receive support. We provide free documentation for our extensions, accessible for everyone to read. If you want to ask a pre-sales question, you don't have to be a subscriber. Just use the Contact Us link at the top or footer of the site.

Hi Hervè,

I'm writing you because I have a problem with the Stripe payment.

All my transactions were blocked because I have a rule in my radar and the ip is not passed in the transaction. Here's the email of Stripe support.

"The reason that your charges are flagged by the system for manual review is the IP address is not being passed when creating the charge. This makes Radar unable to determine :ip_country: (hence having a null value and therefore is != to :card_country).

We determine 'ip_country' from the IP address of the customer that makes the charge. These generally come in via 2 methods:
Stripe.js integration, where we automatically take care of populating the 'ip_address' value
Submitting them via `external_metadata` if you are unable to integrate Stripe.js, but still want to pass us the relevant data about your customers.

I am including information on how to create a card token, which then can be associated with the customer:

Thank you for using our plugin for VirtueMart.
I'm sorry about the issue you are experiencing.

I will double check the code and test, and add the IP address when it is not there. As I am preparing a fixes release today, it should be very soon. I will get back to you asap.

Hi Davide,

It si fine to add IP address in payment request, but waiting for Stripe support reply, to make sure it is taken into account in Radar rules (otherwise it would be useless).

I'll contact you once a patched version of the plugin is ready for you ;-)

Hi Davide,

Sorry for the late reply, but Stripe dev support did not get back to me, unusual delay for them... Any way, I've fixed a few other PHP notices, and added the IP address like you need. It is in the v2.0.1 release here:

It appears in the
metadata
named
customer_ip_address
.

In the Stripe logs it looks like in the first attachment (fake IP address of course for the image).
And you should be able to use it in the Radar rules like in the second attachment.

Please check if it works for you.

Functionality

Once you go through the documentation and try out the settings (and don't forget to test it with a "test item", it works like a dream.

Ease of use

Very easy to use, though a little play with the settings may be needed to get an understanding of the system. And you need a stripe account.

Support

Best support ever. Hervé has been very patient and kind and helped me greatly when the Stripe plugin no longer spoke with the new updates.

Documentation

Documentation is very good. You do need a Stripe account, and you need a little "try out" time to get it all in place.

Value for money

Yes, very much value for money. The plugin, Hervé's support, the easy for the customers to use it. It is all worth it.

I used this to: I use it for my IMRF Bookshop: imrfbookshop(.)org. People can now pay by credit/debit card, Paypal (different plugin) and they can request an invoice and pay by bank transfer.

I particularly liked that test and live config is entered once, and a radio button to switch between modes

Straight forward to setup in the backend and easy for customers to use on the frontend.

Issues created by an upgrade to Virtuemart were dealt with in a timely manner by the developer.

Good documentation library that uses screen shots to clearly show configurations

Value for money

Yes. There are different subscription options, depending on your requirements.
