Hi Puma-IT,

I have just purchased and installed you Stripe payment plugin, which seems to work very well and was easy to install.

I am slightly disappointed with the visual presentation of the payment form though. It makes my site look slightly amateurish. I want to apply some styling to the form to make it look a little bit more professional. My template (yootheme) has some built in CSS classes which I can use or I might try creating my own but I can't quite figure our which file I need to edit. Could you please advise on where I can assign classes to the form.

This is a very good extension and I will leave a review on the Joomla Extensions directory but I wanted to see if I could get this slight gripe sorted out before I share my opinions with everybody else.

Hi Shaun,

Thank you for using our plugin for VirtueMart 2.
And thank you for your feedback. This is very valuable for me and all the other users, so that I can prioritise the features roadmap for the plugin.

I am actually working on the style and layout of the credit card info, to make it easy to customise. Then I hope to find a way to make it integrated as best as possible with templates from theme providers like YooTheme. So I will release a new version in the next two weeks or so.

There is no CSS file to edit, and like with any extension or theme, I would not recommend to do so: on each update, you may loose your edits because the original file will be overwritten. So I suggest to use a custom CSS file, with all your style overrides. YooTheme has an easy way for this, I am sure.

For the moment, you can add some CSS like this:

.vmpayment_cardinfo { your CSS rules;}

this is from the VirtueMart file vmsite-ltr.css, and you can styled down the following tags:

.vmpayment_cardinfo table tr td label, select, input, etc..

You can use a browser add-on like FireBug, but this are general suggestions on HTML and CSS design, out of the scope of the plugin support!

By the way, if you did not already created a custom CSS file, you may follow some instructions from the YooTheme documentation, I am sure it will be useful:

Of course, you should also use CSS specificity: "Specificity is usually the reason why your CSS-rules don’t apply to some elements, although you think they should."

Functionality

Once you go through the documentation and try out the settings (and don't forget to test it with a "test item", it works like a dream.

Ease of use

Very easy to use, though a little play with the settings may be needed to get an understanding of the system. And you need a stripe account.

Support

Best support ever. Hervé has been very patient and kind and helped me greatly when the Stripe plugin no longer spoke with the new updates.

Documentation

Documentation is very good. You do need a Stripe account, and you need a little "try out" time to get it all in place.

Value for money

Yes, very much value for money. The plugin, Hervé's support, the easy for the customers to use it. It is all worth it.

I used this to: I use it for my IMRF Bookshop: imrfbookshop(.)org. People can now pay by credit/debit card, Paypal (different plugin) and they can request an invoice and pay by bank transfer.

Straight forward to setup in the backend and easy for customers to use on the frontend.

Issues created by an upgrade to Virtuemart were dealt with in a timely manner by the developer.

Good documentation library that uses screen shots to clearly show configurations

Value for money

Yes. There are different subscription options, depending on your requirements.

I used this to: Selling various items of merchandise for a sailing club through Virtuemart.
