I've spoken with Stripe and they told me to activate the 3d Secure, is it possibile with your plugin?

Thank you for contacting us and using our plugin for VirtueMart.

Unfortunately, 3D secure is not yet implemented in our Stripe plugin. It was quite limited to certain EU countries like France, and I didn't have any request for it, yet.

I will look into it, and add the feature in the coming weeks. I've noted that you requested it, so I will contact you in advance if you want to test it first hand!

By the way, I couldn't reply to you earlier, because I was packing and in transportation. I've just arrived in Rome, to attend the Joomla World Conference !

I can confirm you that at the end of next week (08/08/2017), I will have a working version of the plugin with 3DS. So I will provide it to you, and you would be able to test it.

I will release it publicly soon after, depending on other features and fixes that may ship in also.

Unfortunately, I was sick a few days, and also my daughter, from the school. I have to catch up with work.

One of my best client needs to complete a new campaign and list with AcyMailing and VirtueMart, so I am finishing it until tomorrow. I also have a client with a B&B and a booking engine that needs some new setup.

I'm working hard and longer to complete the implementation of 3DS for Stripe, and will probably work part of the weekend, so it should make up for the delay.

In any case, I keep informed. Talk to you soon!

I hope you are well. I spent hours because of an annoying bug, fortunately for an edge case. I have a quick fix for now, to complete 3DS implementation, and I will get to this bug properly after 3DS.

Dear Davide,

The Javascript part was tricky, and finally got it working in several cases.
Wiring is working well, and now I am implementing the proper dispatch for use cases (3D Secure is sometimes optional or required).

In the meantime, please could you tell me what is on your client's website:
- template?
- one page checkout extension (not the default VirtueMart one)?

Depending on that, it might need extra testing and coding.

Sorry about the delay, I had a huge extra amount of work for my client with a B&B, and his new setup for the season 2018. Extra prices and differences with booking.com, quite complicated. But this is now live and running, and i'm very proud of that.

On the Stripe 3DS coding, I'm proud too, and the workflow is good. However, the return from 3D Secure authentication, on the bank/third party card emitter website, can be asynchronous, and may required webhooks. This is not something that I am comfortable with, yet, I'm honest here.

So, except proper error handling for that part, outside the merchant website, it will be good enough for beta testing. I have to integrate the specific layout from VP one page checkout, to get you quicker a beta version..

I will be travelling tomorrow, and my availability will be limited this week. So if no urgent work is coming, it should be fine, hopefully.

To thank you for waiting, I have extended your subscription by two months, yes it's Christmas!

Dear Davide,

I have now a beta version for the plugin. It is not available publicly for everybody yet, but you will have the file in the following ticket notification.

Please note that I could not test it with your VP template and One Page Checkout extensions, so you may experience an issue with the "confirm" button. However, it should only require a change for one or tow lines of code to work for you.

If I can test it, not on a live/production website, I will work on a permanent solution.

I'm sorry to ear that it is not working as expected.

I'm looking at the website now, to check what is loading at the same time with the payment methods. And now I can test locally with VP One Page Checkout, so I'm in a position to reproduce and fix the bug.

I will contact you back if I need more details, and to test a bug-fix if needed. Of course, sensitive or confidential information will be posted, I will switch the ticket to private instead of public.

I'm sorry for the delay, and for not bringing good news. I cannot make my Stripe plugin working with VirtuePlanet OPC for the moment. The workaround "Direct Charge" is deprecated for new Stripe account (since October I think), unless more PCI DSS compliance is done. And this method does not work with 3DS any way.

To sum up, the possible solutions, at the moment, would remove the card details fields from the one page checkout, and use another page or a pop up (stripe checkout.js). This is another implementation, and not at all in my plans for now. It seems that VirtuePlanet doesn't have an alternative, even with another plugin.

Don't get me wrong, I know that my plugin "should" work with many other extensions like OPC. But I cannot guarantee it, with the complexity and diversity of the extensions out there. And I don't state otherwise on my website. I am updating the Documentation page to reflect the new 3D Secure feature, improve its content, and will also update the troubleshooting page.

But I already spent a good amount of time with the 3D Secure addition, and I'm glad to have done it, as it was a feature on my list. I have other requests from customers, a few bug fixes, and more localisation to add (German, Italian, Spanish, ...), so I need to prioritise them. I also have some ecommerce websites to update, to bring some income for my family. Unfortunately, the plugin in itself is not enough, I spend more time working on it, than the income it brings, with only a few renewals after a year subscription.

I really wished to have a quicker solution for you, but integrity and honesty are my highest ethos, so I need to tell you the situation. I will give it another thought after the weekend.

Please let me know what do you think, and what are the priority for your client (one page checkout, 3D Secure, etc...). We could find a compromise, even if it doesn't give you a full solution yet.

Functionality

Once you go through the documentation and try out the settings (and don't forget to test it with a "test item", it works like a dream.

Ease of use

Very easy to use, though a little play with the settings may be needed to get an understanding of the system. And you need a stripe account.

Support

Best support ever. Hervé has been very patient and kind and helped me greatly when the Stripe plugin no longer spoke with the new updates.

Documentation

Documentation is very good. You do need a Stripe account, and you need a little "try out" time to get it all in place.

Value for money

Yes, very much value for money. The plugin, Hervé's support, the easy for the customers to use it. It is all worth it.
